Gutterscroft Playing Field Fencing Update

In the coming weeks work will start at the Gutterscroft Playing Field which will see safety fencing installed around the majority of the play equipment to create an enclosed play area.
Dogs will not be permitted within this area.
This project features in this years Council budget and residents may have seen it detailed in the Council Information leaflet which was recently distributed.
The introduction of fencing is in response to feedback from residents who find that dogs when not under proper control engage with children whilst playing on the equipment as well as issues of dogs fouling on or near the play equipment.
The fencing will also provide a much safer environment for children playing within this area.
Further updates will be posted before work commences.

  1. I visited this park 3 times this week with my grandchild. A number of people with dogs were sat on the wooden benches. Most of the dogs were not on leads, despite 3 large metal signs saying dogs must be on leads. One lady, rather immobile, with long white hair had 2 cockapoo types completely roaming about. One even left the park via the entrance near the gutterscroft centre and she struggled to even retrieve it. It’s clear that me that dogs are brought here and let off lead. This needs stopping !!
